Here, there and everywhere draw
Remember the days when a draw was home and away. The props could understand what was happening from week to week. The spectators could get in the groove and the canteen cash would flow.
The 2020 John I. Dent Cup draw is a dog’s breakfast with a start of two home games, two away, two at home and later three games straight away. Throw in three byes and even Maligi Finau cannot get the rhythm.
Add a competition round on ANZAC Day and you have another issue.
Queanbeyan will play Wests and Easts three times and the other teams twice. Wests at Campese, a bye and then Easts at Campese start the season before Wests again in round 4 away.
The competition starts on March 28th with the Whites then having a bye and then Easter off before playing their second game on April 18th against Easts.
The last round is on July 25th with the semi-finals on August 1 and 2 and the grand final on August 15th.
