The ACT has finished third in the Australian Under 19 championships held at Erindale after beating the Barbarians 29-21. Five eighth Will Goddard put the game beyond reach with a 45m penalty goal in extra time and converted all ACT tries scored. He also had a dominant role during the match. He was good but flanker Wyll Holland was outstanding in both defence and attack. Hopefully the Australian selectors will realise he is bigger than Pocock.
The other stand out was prop Fred Kaihea. He has a cult following at the championships with his non-stop and fancy locks. Do not discount Baa Baa Zane Marolt who played plenty of minutes throughout the tournament. He is a worker and unbeatable in the lineout.
Tony Mika Eli also had a good tournament finally making the starting side. Youngster Becks Seeto will be better for the experience and do not be surprised on his grading in 2019.
