The sixth placed Whites face the undefeated Royals at Phillip on Saturday hoping for a second win of the season.

It is no easy task with Royals winning the round one encounter 23-10 and the 2018 history of two losses 28-20 and 28-24.

There should be a bit of hope in the side that defeated Wests last week 34-26 with a minimum of changes for the game. There are doubts about the centre pairing and a mystery lock to fill in next to last week’s round man of the match Zeph Tuinona.

Carl Elliot’s performance at number eight made a difference at scrum time and in the defence. Prop Vincent de Masson bum patting and baiting was inspirational and winger Jack Gilmour is developing nicely.

Tuinona, Keith Morgan and Benny Gordon made the John I. Dent Cup team of the week with Tom G. Darmody shoving Morgan aside for the Tony Innaimo team of the week. Darmody’s five tries may have had something to do with that.

Wins have been hard to come by in all grades with the reserves best results are two draws, colts two wins, thirds one win and fourths the best performed with four wins.
