The Whites will have three debutantes in round 5 of the John I. Dent Cup against Wests at Jamieson Oval.Lock Josh Townsend, front rower
Tonga Tangitau and No 8 Dylan Jancevski all get their first run on games. Townsend has deserved a spot for some time but with three Mcdougall medals and another who should have won it, Dan Penca, there was no room for the hard worker.
Tangitau is new to the club and has trained enthusiastically and has proven himself in second grade. Jancevski is a bolter having not played in 2016, he has been the form player in seconds.
The team is also bolstered by the return of the hard hitting hooker Carl “Snarl” Elliott.
Queanbeyan beat Wests in all grades in round 1 yet face an uphill battle in round 5. Wests have won their last two games and the Whites have lost two including a thumping from Tuggeranong.
Seconds are lucky in that they have Jamie Marmont, Tony Tarlinton and Tom Holland on deck. All three are quality and offset the loss of players to the top side.
Colts are desperate for a win if only to stop the coach’s hair loss.
Fourths start a little earlier at 9.40 and the firsts are at 3.15pm.
