Fiji six and more

Six Queanbeyan players have been selected to play against a touring Fijian Under 19 side.

The Australian indigenous team includes Jason Wirangi, Gordon Daunitutu, Becks Seeto, Ruben Black, Noa Nadruku and Elijah Chadwick. Strapper Wade Smith is also heavily involved in the Aussie side.

The game will be held at Bathurst on September 14th and will be worth booking a stay over to enjoy the game and the night life.

Two Whites have made the NRC squad with prop Fred Kaihea joining Nic Frost in the Vikings dominated side which of course is now a franchise of the non-winning club.

Queanbeyan’s own Young Offenders, Kieran Frost and Liam Hamilton are threatening to return to the Whites in 2020. The Royal Hotel is prepared to sponsor them.

Meanwhile, Pierre Mounall has gone back to Hong Kong to join in the protests, half Mitch Douch has signed for a club in the Netherlands (Holland), Justin Sikimeti is in Japan and they think he is a dish while Will Goddard is somewhere.

This week the short-listed applicants will meet with the selection committee to determine the head coach/first grade coach for 2020 and beyond.  Current head coach Paul Dillon has stood aside.

Presentation night is on Saturday and you need to quickly book and pay for your seats.

The famous John Moore coffee afternoon is on next Thursday at the Turner RUC-oldies and goldies gather to tell lies and drink coffee from 2pm.

The strength and conditioning facility is bricking up nicely.

As Angus Balmaks once said “It’s like déjà vu all over again.”
