The 2019 Queanbeyan-Fiji Sevens will feature the flair of several Fijian based sides as well as activities to celebrate the Fijian national day.
Organiser Angus Balmaks has established a partnership with the Fijian High Commission with a sponsorship arrangement which includes return air flights to Fiji for the player of the tournament and a partner.
Fijian teams have dominated the tournament over the past couple of years and will be looking to make it three in a row in 2019.
There will be Fijian food vans will provide the sustenance as well as the Aussie barbeque and canteen facilities.
Sixteen men’s teams and six women’s teams will contest the Sevens. Queanbeyan has two top grade sides as well as a thirsty thirds outing. All the ACT premier clubs will be involved with West Harbour, Leeton and Australian Services some of the travelling teams.
Games will kick off at 8am on Saturday October 12 at Campese with the men’s cup finals scheduled for 4.20pm.
