31 Jul Final showdowns
Four from five teams head into the semi-finals this weekend with fourths in the major semi on Saturday while reserves, colts and thirds face sudden death minor semi-finals.
Fourths face Tuggeranong at 9.25 at Erindale then on Sunday colts play the home side at 11.15, reserves play Royals at 1.25 and thirds play Goulburn at 11.40.
Thirds played a thriller in the last round winning 24-19 on the bell. They won again in the play-offs on the bell with a John Steele penalty. The Thirsties know how to hang in and enjoy a post-game winning celebration.
Fourths are fresh from a big win but face a Tuggers team which will be backfilled due to the entry into the competition of their dozens of Brumbies allocated players. The only time the teams met this season it was a tryathon with the takeaway kings of Erindale winning 45-40.
Colts showed that they can match any other side in the competition having beaten Gungahlin, Tuggers and Royals during the season. Again, Sunday will be different with many faces appearing from higher grades.
