Franca Recognised

Franca Jones has been named the 2014 ACTRU Volunteer of the Year at the annual McDougall Presentations.

The former Miss Queanbeyan Rugby (1983) has done it all for the Whites including the canteen, cleaning, community engagement, co-ordinator of functions and chief of the cheer squad. Probably her most outstanding contributions have been through sponsorship and charity fund raising.

Franca’s sponsorship efforts have ensured the Whites remaimed competitive in an increasingly costly environment.

But in doing that Franca has not forgotten that it is also important to give back to the community. Charities such as Home in Queanbeyan, the Queensland flood appeal, Sids for Kids, Cancer support, the Ricky Stuart Foundation and the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.

The club’s motto is “Success through business, community and rugby”-thats Franca.
