14 Oct Great guy
The Whites have scored one of the most promising backs in rugby with the Sydney University premiership captain Guy Porter joining the club in 2020.
Porter has been included in the Brumbies wider training squad and has been allocated to Queanbeyan. Only 22-years old he led University to victory in the Shute Shield this season.
His versatility will be a bonus with the centre able to play fullback and wing. Of importance is his leadership skills which will be invaluable for the young Whites’ side. He may be young at 22 but he will find himself amongst plenty of 19 to 20 year olds at the club.
Porter joins Les Leuluaialii-Makin, Tevita Kurindrani, Lachlan McCaffery and another young gun Nic Frost as the Queanbeyan Brumbies.
In other news the strength and conditioning facility, Camp David, could be completed by the end of the week. Equipment is being purchased with the facility likely to be in use for the pre-season 2620 program. It is good timing as the development fund dinner is being held on Friday night with head coach Sam French and the colt’s quartet of coaching staff to present to the incoming colts. Dan Penca, Tom G. Darmody, Alex Bower and Jack Chalker will mould the side.
