10 Aug Marmont’s 100th and Wilson is in
The 2016 John I. Dent Cup grand final will be winger Jamie Marmont’s 100th first grade game. The Whites take on Tuggeranong at Viking Park on Saturday in both first (3.25pm) and second grade (1.20pm).
Lock Toby Wilson has been cleared to play after receiving his third yellow card in the preliminary final. Sean Debenham QC apparently gave a masterful performance for the defence.
Marmont started his first grade career in 2007 and was named in the team of the decade (2005-2014) on the wing. He has moved between fullback, centre and wing in his career with Queanbeyan.
He was a member of the premiership winning teams in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 his ability and consistency was formally recognized when he was awarded the Ben Mansell Memorial Shield as the most promising player in the club.
Off the field he is Mr. Marmont to the students at St. Gregory’s and Chainsaw to his supporter group.
He joins the 100 club as the 28th person to achieve the honour following prop Chris Barbaro who played his 100th earlier this year.
