First grade captain Dan Penca has been named the club’s first grade best and fairest for a record fifth time. He also won the players’ player trophy and the most consistent. Penca is currently playing rugby in Canada under former Whites’coach Wayne Southwell.
Prop Les Makin was awarded a major trophy, the Jeff Townsend Memorial Shield for rugby achievement and best forward. Makin played for the ACT earlier in the year and is now with the Kookaburras in the third tier competition.
Other first grader winners were half Josh White (most improved) and five eighth Billy Chalker(best back).
