Whites’ first grade have to rely on University-Owls to drop games while they win against the top sides starting with Gungahlin this Saturday at Campese.

The following week Erindale comes to the city in the traditional Old Boys bash. Queanbeyan also faces Royals once more with games against Wests (June 29-away), Owls (July 13-away) and Easts (July 20-home) all must win games.

Despite the struggling season, Whites players have featured in the Griffin Legal John I. Dent Cup team of the week. In round 8 lock Kieran Frost, No. 8 Lachlan McCaffery, winger Rian Hamilton and centre Jack Gilmour were named.

In round nine Hamilton must have been wondering what he done to get picked but there is no argument about Keith Morgan, Davea Teoteo (on debut) and Frost getting the nod.

Reserve grade still can make the four as they sit two wins below fourth spot, the colts’ grade is a four-team race with Royals, Gungahlin, Queanbeyan and Vikings in the hunt, thirds are just out of the four and fourths are building for a real run in the finals.

Not bad for a club that many felt was down and out.

To add to the club’s delights there is Old Boys Day, the Golden Blooded Tour and Ladies Day and a Celebration Dinner for the Honour Boarders.
