05 Sep Sam is the man
Former first grade player, a premiership coach of second grade, assistant coach of first grade and more recently assistant coach with University-Norths, Sam French has been appointed head coach and first grade coach with the Whites for 2020.
French was unanimously endorsed by the QRUFC committee after receiving the recommendation of the selection panel.
The thirty-two-year-old takes over from Paul Dillon who had a two-year stint with the club. He did not seek re-appointment.
French impressed the selection panel with his commitment to defence, physicality and a hard-nosed approach.
He also spoke passionately about the culture required to be successful on and off the field. The club motto of “Success through business, community and rugby” will be at the forefront of the Whites approach.
The club will meet with French and work on appointments to the other coaching and support roles.
With the new strength and conditioning facility to be completed in the next six weeks, the Whites players can the lift the bar.
