The ACT Schoolboys rugby union side coached by Daniel Hawke has won the ACT Sports Awards team of the year.
It tops off a stellar year for the colts’ coach who won the Brumbies coach of the year, the colt’s grand final and the Waratah Cup with Erindale College
In other news, incoming head coach Paul Dillon had a full day of meetings on Saturday at the White House. He met with the players committee, grade coaches and managers and many players to discuss the 2018 season.
Major recruit Will Goddard was on hand for his first experience of the club. Goddard was the outstanding player at the Australian Schoolboys championships. He was being chased by the New Zealand Chiefs but opted to be with the Whites.
On a sad note, one of the club’s early achievers, Brian Tankey, passed away at the age of 83. Tankey was the second player to achieve the 100 first grade mark following Bruce Rogers.
