29 Mar Test of numbers
With third and fourth grade playing Hall at Hall and the other grades playing Royals at Phillip District the Whites will face a test on their playing numbers.
The inclusion of teams such as Hall, Cooma, Young and ADFA is an attempt to give the first division clubs suitable competition but at the same time it will stretch the clubs ability to field sides and to provide adequate management and medical support.
To be fair there are only three occasions when the thirds and fourths are separated from the rest of the club when they play Hall in round one, Goulburn in round nine and Cooma in the last round.
First grade face the current John I. Dent Cup premiership team Royals with a few new faces. Danny Matthews has been named at fullback, Josh Wells on the wing and Ben Leaper at lock. After a committed pre-season Ryan Jones has deservedly been named in the back row with Sokai Tai and OJ Noa. Captain Dan Penca is unavailable as is centre Keith Morgan who is returning from an operation.
Other familiar names who have returned to the top side are prop Jordan Cremerius and winger Brendan Spears.
Little is known about player movement at Royals but with their financial backing they are sure to be a force again in 2016.
A lot of interest will be focused on the colts who have healthy numbers and healthy talent. They also meet the reigning premiers which will give a good indication of the season ahead.
