Bottom placed Queanbeyan come up against the top of the table Gungahlin at Nicholls on Saturday. The Whites have dropped both games this season losing to royals 10-23 and then the Owls 23-40 while the Eagles have beaten Tuggeranong 29-26 and Easts 74-5.
It is going to be a tough tram trip to the far north for the club that has lost Sokai Tai for the season while searching for a second-row combination to hold the scrum together.
The good news is that debutante Mick Gordon is back at lock with the impressive Zeph Tuinoa and prop Neori Nadruku is on hand to assist up front.
The Eagles have nearly as many Brumbies as Tuggeranong and they have not been backward in coming forward in their recruitment of everyone and anyone. They can claim two genuine home products in Hansen and Ross.
Whites’ halves Will Goddard and Mitch Douch have a big task and if they can step up it will go along way to stifling Gungahlin.
Reserve grade looks solid with Fraser Smith and Steven Prail in the centres and half Ben O’Halloran able to control the pace of the game.
Colts also have a big task although they are building a formidable side especially as Brendan Jiminez returns to the lineup.
