The Queanbeyan Whites won the inaugural Tara Costigan touch competition defeating Tuggeranong 3-2. In the Battle of the Codes involving teams from rugby union, rugby league and Australian football the Whites went through the competition undefeated.
The experience of Super touch players like Luke Cochrane, the Hawke brothers, Fraser Kemp and Jack Rowe proved to be the difference.
Aiden Agnew on the wing was the point scoring machine with his pace and hair cut bringing the crowd to their feet.
Queanbeyan won the quarter final against Tuggeranong Hawks 11-2, then the semi-final against the Woden Rams 13-2 before taking the arch-rivals on in the grand final.
Whereas the rounds had three points for the first try and then two points for any other, the final had two points for a try and then a drop-off rule.
It did not need to go to drop off with the scoreline just 3-2 thanks to great play by Chris Lindbeck, Luke Cochrane and Tim Hawke.
