29 Jun Wins have to keep on coming
First grade faces a challenge from Gungahlin for second spot with Queanbeyan sitting on 49 points and Gungahlin on 45. In the next three weeks both teams meet Royals and University-Norths while the Whites play Easts and the Eagles face Wests in their other games.
For Saturday’s game lock Ben Leaper returns as does center Lani Tiatia. Sokai Tai moves to number 8 allowing OJ Noa a well-earnt rest. Ben Gordon moves to prop due to a Carl Elliot injury and Neori manages his second game in a row.
Easts have struggled all season but are always keen on an upset particularly against the Whites. The teams will play for the Peter Morton Cup held by Queanbeyan.
Only three games will be played as Easts have forfeited in colts and RMC in fourth grade. There will be no shortage of players queuing up for a game at home.
Second grade sit on 55 points with Gungahlin on 46 and Tuggeranong on 44. The back row of Ben Boyton, Cameron Stanley and Tom G. Darmody is the triple threat of talent. Prop Patrick Lonergan gets a run and Daniel Jancevski another after his display last week.
Third grade coach Grant Jones has had the luxury of a settled side over the past month and plenty of grunt off the bench. Again the back row of Daniel Naef, Jack Edwards and Tyron Sullivan is very impressive.
