Colts coach Daniel Hawke was awarded the prestigious President’s Trophy at the Whites presentation night at the Woden Hellenic Club.
President Ian Darmody with the assistance of The Royal Hotel’s Anthony McDonald announced the major trophy winners to the audience of 175.
Hawke won the award for his contribution to coaching, the running of the development program and his contribution to rugby in the ACT. He coached the successful ACT Schoolboys in the national championships, coached the colts to a premiership and won the ACTRU coach of the year.
He is the third member of the family to win the award with elder brother Tim winning in 2010 and the elder father Phill in 2015.
The other major trophies went to David Kerr (most consistent), Justin Sikimeti (most promising), Gavin Kemp (best clubman), Neori Nadruku (Pat Matthews medal), Daniel Naef (sportsmanship), Liam Moseley (highest achiever) and Michael Edwards (highest point scorer).
